Supremesurf Bigdays in Ahrenshoop
Sunday morning between 7:00 and 8:00 was inscription time for the event therefore we decided to drive already Satureday afternoon to Ahrenshoop. Though we arrived quite late we still had a small session on 4.8. The event was well organized by Supreme Surf and the big sexy pictures team. The day started in a hurry. Inscription, rigging the gear, putting the sail stickers and moving everything down to the beach.
The girls event was canceled in advance so Micha had to start in the mens heat as Nadine Lehnschau and Caro Weber who participated as well. Perhaps it would have been a better idea to run a girls only heat. Like this the girls would have gotten more attention. Micha did quite well, with a nice forward and some smooth wave rides. A pity that the organizer did not name the girls at all in his press work.

Bigdays in Ahrenshoop
Morgen ist es endlich soweit, die Supreme Surf Bigdays gehen an den Start. Eigentlich hatten wir schon gar nicht mehr damit gerechnet…nach langem warten auf einen geeigneten Sturm wurde gestern der Startschuß gegeben. Wir wollten eig. das schwarze Loch in Klitte mitnehmen, vermutlich eher ein Bigday aktuell sind dort 24 fuß Welle und 15sek Periode gemeldet. Ganz so dicke wird es wohl in Ahrenshoop nicht werden. Egal für uns ist es nach langer Abstinenz ein erster Surftag seit Monaten. Continue reading
Hanstholm
Some video frames which we grabbed while our vacations this year in Denmark. This year we unfortunately didn´t have so much luck with the conditions (compared to last year). Anyway we used the time for experimenting with some amazing photgraphy stuff. The new sail which will be available on the market in the upcoming season works great! It starts planning so early and compared to the curve it feels like you can use half a sail size less…have to try it!! In the buttom turn you have full control and the sail behaves completely neutral. It will complete the sail range for freestyle and cross of down the line wave riding needs. The sail weight is just incredible…
Brasilien
Some pics a few days ago in Brasilien of Jürgen Schall from Daily Dose. Nice day at our homespot, 20min away of our flat. I think my second or third day this year with Starboard tack conditions…not common here in Germany. I love this wind direction…the best at this place is that most of the time it is sunny!!
For the baltic sea the wavecult works great. I use it a lot if the wind is not that strong or with a lot of current like typical north sea conditions.

18.09.2011 Klitmöller
Three days ago we arrived in Klitmöller in Denmark. Almost every day wind, not massive but good to test some of the 2012 sails. Yesterday the south westerly wind was stronger than expected, 4.2 and 4.8 were perfect sails. For Thursday the forecast looks pretty good for Hanstholm, so today we will relax to be prepared for tomorrow.

Some Freestyle in Maasholm
Test session for the new cam in Maasholm beginning of the season. Still cold but nice spring weather. First try of grabbing some video frames does not mean that the result will be impressive especially not if you are a boob in freestyling. The tripod head is fine for photography but not at all for filming. Try to find something which allows fluid movements….see what comes next…

Yesterday (12.09.2011) was definitely one of the best days this year for me in St. Peter. Super nice waves with wind from the South and a lot of good friends. Good for jumping and for wave sailing and 3.7 the whole day long. By end of this week we we will be for two weeks in Denmark hopefully we will score good conditions….by the way the pic of Micha entered the calendar 2012 of www.windsurfsprotte.de. Thanks for voting!!
